I remember the first time I heard about the concept of these and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Wearing two shades of lipstick that compliment each other at once and creating an ombre lip out of it? Unreal! It wasn’t until I actually got my hands on them that I realized how convenient and easy to use they were.
These Laneige two-tone lipsticks come in this cool rectangular shaped packaging with an up-and-down slider to lift the product out of the tube. They have a little indication of the colour at the bottom of each tube and have this cool diagonal slant going on.
There are a total of 8 shades available at Sephora. Out of the 8 shades, I currently own: No. 2 Red Blossom, No. 3 Pink Salmon, No. 7 Cashmere Nude, and No. 11 Juicy Pop. These retail for about $35 CAD/$27 USD.
When it comes to Laneige products, I’m more familiar with their skincare products, I’m a really big fan of how they always get the job done and have a really light scent that’s pretty relaxing, in my opinion.
Upon swatching the lipsticks, I was surprised with how smooth they ended up feeling. They glided on effortlessly and if I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought this was some sort of tinted oil.
The pigmentation of the products are very evident, I love how smooth they turned out to be to apply and how easy it was for the colour to show up. There’s a clear distinction between the two shades but I think they compliment each other very well and you’ll definitely be able to blend the shades together to have a smoother transition between the shades for that ombre effect.
While, I don’t naturally gravitate towards anything too bright, the No. 11 Juicy Pop shade looks like a lot of fun and may get quite a few wears throughout the summer months.
What are your thoughts on the ombre lip trend? Have you tried any of these Laneige Two Toned Lipsticks?
