I think it’s no surprise that when this palette was announced, there was no doubt that I’d be getting my hands on it. Not only are the shades within it really easy to create the most subtle to intense looks from. But, with the success of the Modern Renaissance palette, Anastasia Beverly Hills can do absolutely no wrong.
I remember when Modern Renaissance was first announced (you can read my review here), I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Luckily, my best friend Ashley understands the love at first sight feel and gifted it to me as a birthday present. (Bless her soul.) Just like that, another love at first sight was dawned upon me when this palette was announced and the photos were posted over social media.
Knowing the person that I am, I’d get this palette the first chance I got before waiting for anyone else to pick it up for me. This palette came out close to my birthday so, of course, I gifted it to myself. It was a good thing I sent a snap to Ashley of the swatches because she almost went out and bought it for me as a present. (I’m actually the worst at impulse shopping, haha)
The palette gives a really good introduction to the ABH shadows and there are single shadows that can be purchased as well that are found within the palette. In the Soft Glam palette, there are 5 shades out of the 14 that can be purchased as individuals: Dusty Rose, Orange Soda, Burnt Orange, Sienna, and Noir.
Moving on, the palette itself is definitely a go-to next to my Modern Renaissance. It’s got a lot more softer everyday shades that I can see myself gravitating towards. The palette consists of more brown tones that definitely make it easier to go from an everyday eye look to a night-time date night look including mattes and shimmers. Whereas, the Modern Renaissance palette consists of more neutral to berry tones. Between the two palettes, there are 3 shades that are found in both palettes: Tempera, Burnt Orange and Cyprus Umber.
Similar to the Modern Renaissance palette, I found the Soft Glam palette also had a lot of kick up when picking up product but just the same, I could look past that because the swatches and pigmentation of the shadows are amazing. The packaging of the palette is the same as the other ABH palettes with the felt feel cardboard packaging and a double-ended brush and mirror. They’re so easy to work with and with just one swatch, you have the full colour.
If you’re looking for an everyday palette that can help you achieve an everyday look and a night look, this is the perfect palette for you. I definitely picking up or checking out the ABH palettes if you haven’t already.
Have you picked up this palette? What are your thoughts?
