Back in August, Sephora had a Beauty Insider Appreciation event where VIB Rouge members got 20% off, VIB members with 15% off and BI members with 10% off everything in store. If you know Sephora, then you know these sales don’t happen very often and at most twice a year (once in April and once in November).
For the BI Appreciation event sale, you could only use the coupon code once but in-store, you’ve got unlimited use. So, you can definitely bet that I started scouring through my Loves list to figure out what was worth ordering online and what could wait for a in-store visit.
With the upcoming VIB Rouge Holiday Bonus Event I thought I would finally get to this post to give some ideas on what you could pick up this sale. This sale allows VIB Rouge members to get 20% off their purchases both online and in-store for 2 weekends (Oct 26 – Oct 29, and Nov 2 – Nov 5). While, information for the VIB and BI members hasn’t been released yet, I bet you’ll definitely have a discount to use in the upcoming weeks. (Rumour has it, VIB members will get 20% off from Nov 9 – Nov 12 and BI members will get 15% off from Nov 16 – Nov 19!) Without further ado, let’s dive right on in to what I ended up picking up.
- Atomic Blonde Eye & Face Palette, Nars ($74 CAD/$59 USD, Sephora.ca)
I’ve been wanting this palette ever since Desi Perkins got a PR package from Nars that included it. I think it’s the perfect neutral palette and easily my go-to when it comes to a ‘one palette does all’ type of vibe. I really like that the bronzer isn’t Laguna but a limited edition one called Unleashed. The palette itself is a little bit more on the warmer, red-tones of the spectrum but would work well with a light-hand and is very versatile to fully be used as an eyeshadow palette.
- Flex Concealer in Light, Milk Makeup ($34 CAD/$28 USD, Sephora.ca)
Some months ago, Cindy from cindyue mentioned in her IG story and her ‘Reverse Rouge’ post on how much she loved this concealer, and just in time because I needed a new concealer. So far, I’m a fan, it hasn’t dried me out or irritated my skin and has pretty good coverage for my acne scars.
- Astrology by Bite Limited Edition Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Virgo, Bite Beauty ($30 CAD/$26 USD, Sephora.ca)
If you didn’t know, I’m a sucker for limited edition items. Bite’s been my favourite lipstick brand for the past few years and I’ve been picking up their Astrology lipsticks on and off for the better part of the year. (I may or may not be thinking of picking up the Astrology vault they’ve been rumoured to be releasing). I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pick up the shade Virgo since it seemed like something I’d definitely wear during the Fall season.
- Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Reflect & Aura, Hourglass ($38 CAD/$29 USD, Sephora.ca)
I’ve never been big on glitter eyeshadows and almost resisted the temptation but once I saw people swatching and posting about these, I just had to get my hands on them. I visited 3 stores just to pick up the shade Aura and snatched up Reflect right when it came back in stock online. They’re super easy to use and can be used on their own or as an eyeshadow topper.
- Lisse Luxe Long Hair Towel in Desert Rose, Aquis ($42 CAD/$35 USD, Sephora.ca)
I picked up the long hair towel after getting the regular length one from Winners and concluding that my hair was too long to fully see the effect of it. Since picking this up, I’ve noticed my hair has definitely calmed down on the frizz factor and doesn’t have as much breakfage as it used to. A little bit of a splurge but if it’ll help with my hair’s health then I’m all for it.
- Home Diffuser in Panjore Lychee, Voluspa ($29 CAD/$20 USD, Sephora.ca)
I’m a big fan of the Voluspa candles and scents but am always paranoid that I’ll forget to blow out the candle and accidentally light my house on fire or I get bothered with the smoke. A diffuser is a great win-win for me, my room always smells refreshing and clean, and I don’t have to worry about my house being set on fire. In my opinion, these aren’t super pricey and make it a little more affordable for me.
I’m pretty proud of what I purchased, I don’t think it was too much or too extravagant but more of a few things here and there to try out and some products that I needed. While, my Loves list is always growing on Sephora, I think the sales really help you narrow down your wants and your needs.
