All About Charlotte || Charlotte Tilbury

It’s no surprise Charlotte Tilbury has taken the world by storm. From her latest at the Victoria Secret fashion show to her iconic packaging and lipstick shades, she’s definitely at the top of my list for one of my favourite makeup brands.

I recently received a few items to try out as well as picked up a few from her latest collection to try out. I thought I’d throw them all in a post together for a quick review.

Starting off with her newest additions to face makeup, the Magic Away Concealer*, I received the shades 3 Fair and 5 Medium. The packaging of the concealer comes in the signature rose gold with a window slot that allows you to see how much concealer is left over. The concealers retail for $38 CAD/$32 USD at Charlotte Tilbury, Nordstrom, Sephora and other CT retailers. It comes in a twisting mechanism at the bottom of the tube with a sponge-top applicator. The liquid concealer promotes itself as a full-coverage concealer that helps reduce dark circles, blemishes and imperfections.

I found that the packaging reminded me of the L’Oreal Age Rewind Concealer with the sponge-top applicator and the twisting mechanism. While, I found a little difficulty in a shade that matched my skintone with the L’Oreal concealer, the CT Magic Away Concealer shade matched pretty well. Since my summer tan is still in the process of fading out, my perfect concealer shade currently would most likely be 4 Fair. However, I found no issues in mixing the 3 Fair and 5 Medium concealers together to achieve my perfect shade.

The product itself does feel a little thicker consistency but blends pretty well. I ended up blending out the product with a Sigma F82 Round Kabuki brush. With no primer applied, I found the product blended out nicely and didn’t leave my skin looking patchy or cakey at all. It did a good job in hiding left over acne scars.

Personally, I found the concealer a little too thick to use as an under-eye concealer but would definitely use it as a concealer to hide blemishes and acne scars. I like that you can see how much product is leftover in the window slot and the packaging helps keep any bacteria out of the product itself. All in all, I’m a fan of the concealer, I may end up picking up the shade 4 Fair to see if it’s the perfect shade for me.

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Eyeshadows, $36 CAD/$32 USD

Moving onto the Eyes to Mesmerize cream eyeshadows, I’ve seen these all over Instagram and couldn’t wait to get my hands on them to try them out! I received Marie Antoinette*, a gorgeous oyster-gold shade and picked up Rose Gold, a champagne pink shade. The cream eyeshadows retail for $36 CAD/$32 USD and come in a frosted pot with the signature CT logo on the top in rose gold. Each pot is 7 mL (0.24 fl.oz) and there is a total of 8 shades with the rose gold shade being limited edition and the Star Gold shade to be coming back Spring 2019.

When they say a little goes a long way, they literally mean a little goes a long way. I took the smallest pinch of product and it easily covered my whole eyelid. The colours are gorgeous and super pigmented. I didn’t find there to be any creasing or issues with layering more product. These cream eyeshadows consist of a water-infused formulation and are so easy to use, I can see them lasting a long time. I’m definitely looking forward to picking up more shades!

Charlotte Tilbury Stars in Your Eyes Palette, $95 CAD/$75 USD

Onto the final star of the show, the Stars In Your Eyes palette, similar to the Instant Eye palette that launched late last year (you can read my review here),  the palette consists of 12 shades in total each divided up into 4 separate mood enhancing looks. Each mood consists of a prime shade, an enhance shade and a smoke shade. I love that while you can mix up the mood shades, they’re also pre-organized so you can come up with the looks that the palette already provides for you.

While the Instant Eye palette focused more on neutrals and everyday eye looks, this palette consists more of fun colours with more of a pink theme and undertones. I love that the packaging stays true to the signature CT packaging colour scheme.

The swatches, just like the other Charlotte Tilbury palettes are super pigmented and easy to work with. They’re jam packed with colour and come off super smooth. If you’re looking for a fun palette for the holidays, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up. It’s on the pricier side of things ($95 CAD/$75 USD) but definitely a palette I can see myself reaching for throughout the holiday season.

Are there any Charlotte Tilbury products that you’ve been loving lately?
